DORIMOR KENNELS
After years of observation in New Zealand, Australia, Britain and the U.S.A., we chose the well-established BURNLEY Kennels owned by Shirley and Cam Burnside, Hawkes Bay, to buy our foundation stock .
Burnley On Target, our yellow dog, Saatchi, and Burnley Kum Uppance, our black bitch, Polly are up front and well deserving of being centre page to introduce us. They have some different well-bred champion lines and together, produced beautiful labradors.
To develop our own line, we outcrossed by leasing Daphne Cooke's [Ladogo Kennels] Louise of Ohakuri, sired by Mardas Corn Barley [imp.UK] and grand daughter of Fidelia of Bayridge. We now have her great grand –get, born 25 October 2001.
Still looking at new horizons, we bought Penquite Out Of The Blue, who has introduced the chocolate colour into our kennel. He is a true 'British emigrant', conceived in Cornwall and born in New Zealand. His wonderful temperament was first demonstrated by his mother, Hamdon Ophelia, and as his pedigree shows, he has many well known ancestors, to live up to.
SUEIn 1963, I owned, obedience trained and showed Cobber, my first pedigree golden labrador dog, (today he would be classed as yellow). He cemented my lifetime love and dedication to this wonderful breed.
Several labradors later DORIMOR Kennels was established in memory of my mother Doris Mort.

Realising that it was a case of "love me, love my dog", I also became addicted to Labrador Retrievers and have been known to assist at Gundog Field Trials and even trained in a Dog Obedience Class.
In February 2001 we relocated from Brooklands, Christchurch to Moonshine Manor, South Canterbury so that we could enjoy our dogs to the maximum and watch them race through the paddocks.
